Nodaway Valley and Orient-Macksburg each sent representation to the 96th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference last week in Ames.
In addition, Tucker Rohrig of Orient, who is a member of the Creston FFA chapter, was named regional vice president for Iowa FFA in 2024-25. He will represent the south central Iowa district. He is the son of Matt and Heidi Rohrig.
Others state officers are President Collin Bauer, Secretary Chloe Zittergruen, Reporter Kaden Boender, SW Vice President Brooke Booth, SE Vice President Cody Messer, NC Vice President Caleb Lentz, NW Vice President Colton Pepin and NE Vice President Creed Monroe.
In addition to the many contests and events area members competed in, they were also able to take part in a mission project packing meals for Meas from the Heartland.
Nodaway Valley results from the convention are as follows:
Caroline Britten, Kerigan Brown, Taylor Day and Kynnady Van Eaton competed in ag communications and received bronze
Bailey Carstens, Ayden Goetz, Ben Hoover, Paul Kading, Chloe Rardin, Ty Rardin and Charles Rudolf competed in ag issues and received silver
Delaney Blomme, Chase Comstock and Abbi Zenor competed in chapter display and received silver
Luke Kading competed in creed speaking and brought home gold
Blake Edwards and Haydon Sickles took part in the greenhand quiz and received bronze
Iowa Degrees were conferred to seniors Makinley Edwards and Jorja Holliday and juniors Blomme, Comstock, Carstens and Rudolf.
Voting delegates were Makinley Edwards and Holliday.
The Orient-Macksburg chapter’s poultry team brought home a bronze rating. Members of the team were Kaydence Kirkland, Blaise Fry, Natalie Mullen and Emily Butler.
