Kwik Star is eager to open a new store just off of Interstate 80 on the south side of Stuart later this year.
According to Ben Leibl, Public Relations Representative with the LaCrosse, Wisconsin-based company, the completion date is set for September of this year.
Ground was broken on the site, on the east side of Stuart Road just south of the interstate, a couple of weeks ago.
“We chose Stuart because we have had success in communities like Stuart prior to coming here,” Leibl said. “We are excited to partner with the town of Stuart and be able to offer a one stop shop for folks.”
The store will be a truck stop with showers available for truckers who need them. The store will be approximately 9,000 square feet. Guests can expect this to be a very modern-looking store where they can get snacks, drinks, milk, eggs, butter and ready to eat food off of Kwik Star’s Hot Spot.
Leibl anticipates the store will open approximately one week after construction is complete.
Kwik Star, known in many other states as Kwik Trip, has 95 stores in Iowa. One of the latest to open was in DeSoto, in Dallas County, in November 2022.
The Stuart City Council has worked on various measures throughout the pre-construction process to make sure the right things are in place for Quik Trip’s arrival to the community.
