Few contested races in city/school election

Election 2023

The filing period ended Thursday, Sept. 21 for the upcoming combined city/school election that is Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Voter pre-registration deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23. Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who aren’t pre-registered — such as voters registering to vote on election day — and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residency. A voter unable to provide an approved form of identification or prove residency may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, prove identity and residency using election day registration documents or cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residency at the county auditor’s office by noon Nov. 13. Election Day attesters must provide an approved form of identification. Absentee ballots

Voters may request an absentee ballot from the auditor’s office. Voters may vote in the office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Wednesday Oct. 13, or they may request a ballot be mailed to them. The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot through the mail is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23. The last day to vote absentee in the auditor’s office is 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6.

Polls will be open 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Election Day Tuesday, Nov. 7.
