James W. Huff

James “Jim” William Huff, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully May 27, 2023. He was born in Greenfield to Norma and William Huff. Jim graduated from Iowa State University in 1977 in computer science; got his master’s in business administration from Seattle University in 1984. He embarked on a 36-year career at Boeing Company, retiring in 2014.

Jim married fellow ISU alum, Barb, in 2010 and enjoyed his retirement by traveling, especially visiting his daughter, Rachel, working at the Seattle Mariners ballpark, playing golf and singing and playing guitar at church. Jim’s infectious smile and big heart touched the lives of many.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Barb; his daughter, Rachel; his siblings: Rosanne (Dan), David (Kendalyn) and Mary (Brian) and a large extended family including Barb’s children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A service will be held in Iowa at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, the church Jim grew up in, at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, followed by light refreshments and a time to share memories.
