Sherry Lambi, 79, of Webster City, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Friendship Haven Journeys in Fort Dodge. A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. May 26 (brunch) at Briggs Woods Conference Center in Webster City. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for Sherry and family.
Sherry Noel Ehrenfried was born Dec. 29, 1943, daughter of Harold “Jack” and Roberta (Hoadley) Ehrenfried in Greenfield. She graduated from Greenfield High School, where she played trumpet in the band, participated in vocal music and was active in theatre arts. Sherry was also an accomplished horsewoman, riding in many parades.
On Nov. 15, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Leo D. Lambi, in Greenfield. The couple resided in Glenwood and Sac City before moving to Webster City in 1985. She worked with Leo at Lambi Car and Truck as the business manager for many years. She then joined the ITA Group as a travel director, leading large corporate groups on excursions all over the world and earning praise from colleagues and clients alike for her skills and positive attitude.
Charity work and community were incredibly important to her. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and served on the board for Youth and Family Services. She was active in the Town & Country Garden Club, Tee Hee Tennis Club, Beta Sigma Phi Service Sorority and the financial fundraising committee for Van Diest Medical Center. Sherry also enjoyed early mornings at Morning Glory coffee group.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leo; children, Brent Lambi of Kansas City, Missouri, Michelle (Gregg) Messer of Des Moines and Chad (Lisa) Lambi of North Liberty, Kanas; grandchildren: Melissa, Matthew, Paige and Ella.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Roberta Ehrenfried.
