Nodaway Valley/O-M swept the medals on both sides of a quadrangular golf meet Monday, April 11 at Mount Ayr Golf and Country Club.
The boys’ 181-stroke day was best among the four teams.
Sophomore girl Lindsey Davis was medalist on the girls’ side of the meeting, shooting a 52, while Bradley Gebbie was boys’ medalist, carding a 42.
“The weather couldn’t have been more perfect,” Wolverine co-head golf coach Joel Klobnak said. “I am seeing a great deal of confidence in some of our golfers and it is starting to translate into their golf game.”
On the girls’ side, the only other NV/O-M golfer was Ashlyn Gutierrez, who also finished with a 52.
On the boys’ side, Gebbie’s round was supported by Zack Gebbie’s 45, Kaden Herr’s 46, Matthew Weber’s 48, Landon Klobnak’s 52 and Jack Jensen’s 68.
The host Raiders were second in the team race with a 201, with Drew Ehlen as runner-up medalist with a 42. Martensdale-St. Marys shot a 201 and Southeast Warren a 218.
None of the girls’ teams had a team score on the day.
“We still need to fine-tune their putting,” Klobnak said, “but that will come with time and practice.”
