Nodaway Valley girls track triumphs on home track

More times than not, athletes from other schools were chasing those from Nodaway Valley from start to finish Monday, April 4.

The Wolverine girls’ track team hosted its home invitational and scored 113 points to win the meet. They outlasted Treynor by 10 points to take the meet title. They also broke a meet record in one of the relays.

“We had a good night running,” said NV head coach Brett Welsch after the meet. “We have some handoffs to work on, but overall it was a very solid night of running and field events.”

The team effort was led by six event wins by Nodaway Valley. Senior Maddax DeVault was a part of four of those wins. Individually, she won the 100-meter hurdles (16.17 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (27.24).
