Unofficial election results released Tuesday night

Adair County Auditor Mandy Berg released city and school election results late Tuesday night. They will remain unofficial until the board of supervisors approve them Nov. 16.

In a contested race for Nodaway Valley School Board District 2, Molly Herrick defeated incumbent Douglas Holliday 276 to 155, with three write-ins. In the other contested Nodaway Valley race, Kristen Jensen (370) and Daniel Shilling (210) outlasted James Campbell (143) for at-large seats with eight write-ins. Running unopposed for the District 1 seat was Adam Woosley, who received 407 votes.

Alexander Maeder (64 votes) defeated Angie Blazek (15) and Casey Osborne (6) for an at-large seat on the Orient-Macksburg school board. Roger Wolfe (78) ran unopposed for a District 1 seat at O-M. There were 30 write-ins for the District 3 seat that no one ran for.

Blair Carney (151), Gretchen Umbaugh (129) and Amanda Bireline (126) defeated Lindsey Dinkla (125), Stacey Wedemeyer (116), Tyler McCorkel (82), and Jessica Grubbs (61) for three spots on the Adair-Casey school board.

Incumbent Mary Sturdy-Martin (67) defeated Michael Walker (50) in the race for Fontanelle mayor, and there were four write-ins.

Tyson Sickles (68) and Sam McIntire (55) received the two at-large seats open on the Fontanelle council. Others on the ballot were Dianna Goetz (52), Nichole Queck (42) and Kalvin Edwards (16).

Jeff Clayton (194), Brian Fox (188) and Suzanne Wagner (183) all ran unopposed to retain seats on the Greenfield council. Jonathan Christensen (183) will join the council as he ran unopposed for an at-large seat.

Matthew Swanson (38) ran unopposed to retain his spot as Orient mayor. Justin Boswell (38) received the most votes for Orient council with 30 write-ins.

Joanne Byars (137) defeated incumbent John Larsen (99) to win the Adair mayor position. Paul Gettler (169) and Richard Hays (107) won Adair city council positions, as did Jim Zimmerline (141), who defeated Jeff Lee (89).

Dick Cook remains Stuart mayor, receiving 67 votes running unopposed. Top vote-getters for Stuart council, with three seats available, were David Doely (53), James Morgan (53) and Cory Kirkpatrick (46). Kevin Guisinger received 38 and Ryan Morrison 27.

In uncontested races, Roberta Carpenter received 23 votes for Bridgewater mayor and Douglas Miller received 25 votes for Bridgewater city council, and there were 26 write-ins.
