Emily Louise Wagner, 99, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at the Community Care Center in Stuart.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at Orient Cemetery in Orient. Father Clement Owusu will officiate. Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.steenfunerals.com. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday at Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Emily Louise Wagner was born Nov. 29, 1920, the daughter of Francis (Frank) Thurston and Gertrude Evangeline (Goosney) Whalen in Massachusetts. Emily’s mother passed away when she was four years old and she was then raised by her maternal and paternal grandparents in Gloucester and Fall River, Massachusetts.
On July 28, 1945, she was united in marriage to Charles Martin Wagner in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fall River, Massachusetts. They moved to Martin’s home state of Iowa. During their marriage, Emily worked at Donna’s Café and Martin worked for the city of Orient.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Wagner in 1991; son, Francis Wagner in 2007; and son-in-law, Everett Eivins in 2010.
She is survived by her children: Carol Eivins of St. Joseph, Missouri, Mary Gettler (Duane) of Adair, George (Jan) Wagner of LeMars, Charles Wagner of Atlantic and Paula (David) Haglund of Menominee, Michigan; sister and brother-in-law, Cleo and Larry Gipple of Charlotte, N.C.; ten grandchildren: Michael Eivins, Jonathan (Chris) Eivins, Brandy (Paula) Kingery, Matthew (Brandy) Gettler, Michael Gettler, Heather (Tracey) Watson, Marcie (Dan) Stiles, Melanie Gettler, Joshua (Laura) Wagner and Taylor Haglund; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
