Janet Adkins

Janet Adkins, 91, of Creston died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. No services are scheduled at this time. Online condolences can be made at www.powersfh.com.

Janet Patricia (Krier) Adkins, daughter of Ella L. (Hageman) Krier and Louis Krier, was born April 13, 1929, in Estherville. She attended school in Estherville and later graduated from High School there.

On April 28, 1949, Janet was united in marriage to Robert Lee Adkins in Estherville. This marriage was blessed with three children: Pat, Nancy and Mike. They first settled in Alexandria, South Dakota, where Janet was a homemaker. The family then moved to LeMars and Janet took a bookkeeping position at Bonderson Auto Supply, working there until her retirement.

In her retirement, Janet enjoyed spending time in Yuma, Arizona, while living in the Cactus Gardens RV Park, she took on the duty of distributing the other residents’ mail.

While living in LeMars, Janet was a member of the St. James Catholic Church.

Surviving Janet are her two daughters, Pat (Bob) Wiederholt of Ankeny and Nancy (Jim) Anthony of Lenox; son Mike (Treasa) Adkins of Eloy, Arizona; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister Judy (Joe) Unger of Hugo, Minnesota; along with other extended relatives and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob in 2010 and her brother Wilbur Krier.
