Grace Weese, 96, of Greenfield, formerly of Orient died Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, at Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Greenfield. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Masks are recommended and social distancing with be observed. Pastor Bill Armstrong will officiate the service.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Grace Mary (Johnston) Weese, daughter of J. Mannie Johnston and Vesta May ‘Dolly’ (Straight) Johnston, was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Lenox. She graduated from Lenox High School with the class of 1941.

On Oct. 2, 1943, Grace was united in marriage to Calvin C. Weese in Worth County, Missouri. This marriage was blessed with four children: Mike, Steve, Alan and Deb.

With Calvin’s service in the U.S. Navy, the family moved many times all over the United States and during those moves Grace took much pride in being a homemaker for her family. Their travels took them to Utah, Texas, Colorado and Washington, only to name a few.

Calvin passed in 1980 while the family was living in Texas and Grace was then employed as a manager with J.C. Penney’s for over 13 years.

Grace is survived by her sons: Mike (Pam) Weese of Glendale, Arizona, Steve (Verlene) Weese of Longview, Texas and Alan (Pam) Weese of Texas; daughter Deb (Greg) Sisler of Orient; grandchildren: Lisa, Shaun and Kevin Weese, Nation (Misty) Weese, Luke (Misty) Weese, Jesse (Betty) Weese, Tyler and Sonny Weese, Cassandra Green, Calvin Weese, Ivan Wilson, Cody (Destiny) Wilson, Enoch (Veronica) Wilson, Hannah (James) Shady, Caleb (significant other Leah), Kendra (Tyler) Pomerenke and Angela Seitz; great grandchildren: Trent, Evan, Aidan, Darian, Aliviya, Luan, Joshua, Dylan, Cody Jr., Chance, Cole, Corbin, Gabriel, Greyson, Bella Grace, Avari, Anaiyah, Logan, Xavier, Jude, Simeon, Adler and Viera; along with many other extended relatives, as well as her family at Greenfield Manor and a host of friends.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband Calvin, brothers Kenneth, Bernard, Kermit and Emerson ‘Sonny’ Johnston, sister Alma Smith, son-in-law Alvin Seitz, great granddaughter Aynya Shady, nephew Bill Stuart and great-nephew, Eric Shepherd.
