Teddy Roosevelt is coming to the Warren Cultural Center at 2 p.m. Sept. 27. Actually, Dr. John C. “Chuck” Chalberg will be portraying President Roosevelt.
A native of Brainerd, Minnesota, Chalberg has performed in virtually every state of the Union, as well as Canada and Hungary. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in American history from the University of Minnesota and is retired from a career of teaching American history at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota.
In addition to Roosevelt, Chalberg has portrayed Patrick Henry, H.L. Mencken, G.K. Chesterton, George Orwell, baseball’s Branch Rickey, golf’s Bobby Jones, and the Louisiana Kingfish, Huey Long. He wrote a dual biography of Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey, a biography of Emma Goldman, along with many reviews and essays for various publications and websites.
