Iowa football rankings released

The Mount Ayr Raiders found themselves in state rankings on multiple occasions last season, but open the 2020 season without a preseason ranking The Daily Gazette. Creston/Orient-Macksburg also was featured in the top-10 rankings for Class 3A last season, but fell out of the rankings.

The Gazette released its football rankings for teams throughout the state Friday.

No News Advertiser area teams made the top-10 rankings. In Creston/O-M's district, two teams were selected. Lewis Central enters the season ranked No. 5 and Harlan starts at No. 6 in Class 3A.
