WINTERSET — Madison County deputies on Wednesday charged a man with murder in the death of another man whose body was found in a rural intersection southwest of Winterset.
Deputies charged Gerald Parker, 41, of Creston with first-degree murder in the death of Jonathan Hoffman, 39, of Des Moines.
A delivery driver found Hoffman’s body on the afternoon of July 21, face down in an intersection. He had been shot to death.
Parker was being held in the Madison County Jail.
On July 29, during an investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations into the July 21 shooting death of Jonathan Hoffman of Des Moines, Madison County Deputies arrested Gerald Parker of Creston. Parker has been charged with one count of murder in the first degree. Parker has been booked into the Madison County Jail and the investigation is on-going.
Jonathan Hoffman was found shot to death in rural Madison County at the intersection of Grandview Trl and Macksburg Road at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday July 21 after a delivery driver found him face down in the intersection.
