Tyler Holloway, 22, of Waukee was charged with carrying weapons 3:44 p.m. Thursday on the 2000 block of Highway 92 in Greenfield.

According to an Adair County Sheriff’s report, Holloway was stopped while driving for not having registration plates on his vehicle. Holloway provided a bill of sale and a Louisana state-issued driver’s license, but admitted he did not have insurance. Holloway was asked if weapons were in the vehicle, and he confirmed that there was a .40 pistol and a .360 pistol in the back of the vehicle, inside a bag on the floor board. After stepping out and speaking with the officers, Holloway said there was a black powder revolver in the center console. The pistols in the back were unloaded, but a revolver found in the front of the vehicle was loaded with three rim-fire cartridges. Holloway said that Louisiana was a constitutional carry state and that he had not gotten a permit to carry since moving to Iowa.

Holloway was cited and released from the scene on his promise to appear.
