Ringgold County Sheriff

Tami Bailey, 56, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, was charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain control, failure to provide financial responsibility and driving under suspension 2:46 a.m. June 2 on State Highway 2.

According to a Ringgold County Sheriff’s report, Bailey failed to control the vehicle she was operating and drove into a ditch. When officers arrived, they noted a smell of alcoholic beverage coming from her breath, accompanied by slurred speech. Bailey has a suspended license and did not have the proper insurance information for the officers.

Bailey was being held on $1,602 bond in the Ringgold County Jail.

Melissa Wilson, 43, 307 N. Davis St., Kellerton, was charged with domestic abuse assault impeding flow of air or blood, and Michael Chamberlain, 40, also of 307 N. Davis St., Kellerton, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault 5:15 p.m. June 3 at their residence.

According to a Ringgold County Sheriff’s report, Wilson and Chamberlain got into a physical altercation where both struck and choked eachother with their hands.

Wilson and Chamberlain were both being held in the Ringgold County Jail awaiting appearances before the magistrate.

Shelly Andersen, 43, 2236 U.S. Highway 169, Mount Ayr, was charged with domestic abuse assault 11:37 p.m. Thursday at her residence.

According to a Ringgold County Sheriff’s report, Andersen struck a male victim repeatedly, scratching his left shoulder.

Andersen was being held in the Ringgold County Jail awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.

Chance Newton, 605 Loomis Ave., Corning, was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated 12:59 a.m. Sunday on State Highway 2 west of Benton.

According to a Ringgold County Sheriff’s report, Newton crossed the fog line several times and was pulled over. During the traffic stop, officers noted slurred speech and the smell of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Newton consented to a breath test, yielding a result greater than .08 blood-alcohol content.

Newton was being held on $1,000 bond in the Ringgold County Jail.
