Adair County Sheriff

Billy Herbert, 21, of Mexico, Missouri, was charged with domestic assault with bodily injury and assault causing bodily injury 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenfield Old Lake campground area.

According to an Adair County Sheriff's report, officers were dispatched to the campground in regards to a dispute taking place near a car. By the time the officers arrived, several individuals stated that Herbert had punched a pregnant female victim in the chest and stomach, causing her to drop her knees and almost pass out. A male individual stepped in to protect the female and Herbert grabbed him by the neck, pushing him to the ground and injuring his left forearm. A female individual tried to push Herbert off the male victim and Herbert pushed her to the ground, causing her to cut her fingers. Herbert fled and was located at Casey's in Greenfield.

Herbert was released from the Adair County Jail on his promise to appear.

Kristina Sherman, 51, of Adair was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated 4:08 p.m. Thursday on 5th Street in Adair.

According to an Adair County Sheriff's report, officers received a call about a possible intoxicated person. Officers located the vehicle pulling out of Casey's on 5th Street and noticed the vehicle cross the center line and drive on the wrong side of the road. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found Sherman to be driving the vehicle. Sherman seemed confused and had bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. Sherman was unable to find her driver's license and was asked to leave the vehicle. Sherman was unable to finish the sobriety tests and consented to a breath test, resulting in a concentration above the legal limit.

Sherman was cited and released on her promise to appear.
