George Rinner

Creston

George Rinner, 76, of Creston died Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.  A private family celebration of life memorial service will be at a later date.  Memorials can be given to the family.  Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.

George Leroy Rinner, son of Lawrence Harvey Rinner and Nellie Marie (McMillion) Rinner was born April 12, 1943, in Ellston.  George attended Ellston Community School.

George lived in the Greenfield and Adair county areas. George worked as a farmer caring for his livestock. He also did construction work for a time doing heavy equipment operating and was a part of the crew that built the Orient Lake. He also drove trucks transporting livestock. He later moved to the Creston area before moving to Winterset to be near family as his health declined. George also enjoyed going fishing with his family, going to the Chicken Inn and going for rides with his brother and family.

George is survived by his son Melvin (Danielle) Rinner of Indianola; two daughters: Heather (Pete) Shimer of Ridgeway, Missouri and Shelly Adams of Creston; a step-son Charles Bittner of Des Moines; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: Charles (Ellen) Rinner of Creston and Ronald (Laurel) Rinner of Yale; a sister Juanita (George) Spencer of Creston; brother-in-law Bill Thompson of Watkins, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews and other family.

George was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Mary (Burl) Dillenburg, Alice (Marvin) and Jeanie (Bill) Thompson; and a brother Fred Rinner.
