Angela Sue Madden was taken home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 2, 2020.
Angela was born in Creston Sept. 26, 1946, to Daisy L. (Fisher) and Curtis B. Alumbaugh. She graduated from Creston High School in 1964 and worked for a year as a telephone operator. Angela was united in marriage to Wayne Madden Sept. 9, 1965, in Maryville, Missouri. This was the happiest moment in her life as she had a crush on him since she was four years old.
The second happiest moment of her life was Oct. 4, 1981, the day she attributed to being born again and from then on she was on fire to spread the Word of God. Because of her faith, she was constantly called upon to pray for people, either she knew or she didn’t. She didn’t question the reason, she just prayed. Her prayers undeniably kept her husband, children and grandchildren safe. Her unwavering faith helped lead many people to the Lord, her greatest purpose.
She worked for a year at Gits. From 1978 to 1981, she worked as a fitness instructor at New Image where she helped inspire confidence. From 1983 to 1988, she worked at Spurgeon’s department store where she loved visiting with her co-workers and helping customers. Sadly, she began losing her sight due to a disease and underwent multiple surgeries to try to preserve her sight and she was able to see all of her grandchildren.
She was known for her elegance and class and was a huge fan of Elvis. She had a tremendous talent for dancing and won many contests in her younger days. She loved cooking and was gifted at crafts and decorating. As a member of the Eagles she loved bowling with her mom and siblings. She spent years passionately involved in politics. Her love of animals was her last active hobby and she donated her time and to charities like C.A.R.E., which was the closest to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her brother Curtis Lee, both parents and her nephews: Jeff, Kasen and Brandon.
Angela is survived by her husband Wayne; her three children: Debra (Mitch) Sorensen, Curtis and Diana, all of Creston; grandchildren: Chelsea (fiance Chris) Sorensen, Angela Sorensen, Ethan Madden; great-grandson Joel Sorensen, her little miracle baby; her siblings: Maxine (Dave) Davenport of Creston, Jane Abell of Huntsville, Alabama, Larry Alumbaugh of Maryville, Missouri and Janet (Brian) of Orient; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, and a special friend of decades, Linda Johnson of Creston.
A small private service was held with Pastor Jim McCutchan presiding, March 5, 2020, at Graceland Cemetary Chapel. Memorials may directed to C.A.R.E.
Our hearts are broken and our live will never fade. Wayne gave his angel back to God.
