Cheryl Bierle, 76, of Creston died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, at Crest Haven Care Center in Creston. Private family graveside services with burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date. Cheryl June Bierle was born June 22, 1943, the daughter of Ralph Duncan Nelles and Elnora Katherine (Kepplinger) Nelles. Cheryl graduated from Scotland High School in Scotland, South Dakota, June 11, 1961.
Cheryl was united in marriage to Duane Harold Bierle in Scotland, South Dakota. They settled in Scotland and later moved to Riverton, Nebraska, where she worked as an active homemaker. Cheryl and her family moved to Whiting, where her husband continued his teaching career and she worked as a mother and homemaker. After a while they moved to Manilla where Cheryl worked as a hog buyer for Farmland Foods in Denison. They later moved to Princeton, Missouri, and operated a dairy farm.
Cheryl and her family moved to the Creston area in 1985, where they raised sheep and goats and she was the bookkeeper for the Iowa district for SuCross Company/AgVenture Seed Company. Cheryl was an active member of both the Iowa Suffolk and the United Suffolk Sheep Association for 35 years.
Survivors include her two sons: Steven Bierle of Liberty, Missouri, and Douglas (Nichole) Bierle of Creston; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Arlene Nelles of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Duane in 2016; son Jeffrey Bierle in 2015; and brother Donald in 2018.
