Donnie Powell, 74, of Massena passed away on Wednesday, Jan.15, 2020, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Massena with burial in the Massena Center Cemetery in Massena, Iowa, with full military graveside rites by the Anita American Legion Post No. 210. A luncheon will be held at the church following services at the cemetery. Pastor James Hansen will officiate. The Steen Funeral Home in Massena is in charge of the professional arrangements. Open visitation for family and friends will be 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20 at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena. The family will greet friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Donnie Powell memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Powell is survived by his daughters: Carrie Ross-Stanley (David) of Des Moines, Tammie Marshall (David) of Johnston, and Misty Sachs (Greg) of Ames; brother, Cleve (Toni) Powell of Massena; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; significant other, Jane Sullivan of Greenfield; other relatives and friends.
