Ricky Bird

Ricky Bird, 72, formerly of Creston passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in a private family service to be held at a later date. Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 W. Ricky Fay Bird was born Jul. 24, 1947, in Creston. Ricky was the sixth of nine children born to Otto and Opal Gladys (Tindle) Bird. Ricky worked for many years in the Creston area, performing various construction and concrete work. Ricky was never married.

Family members who preceded Ricky in death include his parents Opal and Otto Bird; seven brothers and sisters: Junior Bird, Betty Barkus, Jerry Bird, Larry Bird, Danny Bird Sr., Donnie Bird and Vicki Connelly.

Ricky is survived by his only remaining sibling, his brother Ronnie (Patty) Bird of Creston; his son Lance Bird of Winterset and by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
