Martensdale-St. Marys 71, Nodaway Valley 50
MARTENSDALE – Nodaway Valley’s four-game win streak was snapped with a 71-50 loss to Martensdale-St.Marys (6-2) Thursday night.
Nodaway Valley (4-2) trailed 24-9 after the first quarter, but bounced back with a 14 point second quarter to cut the lead to 43-24 at halftime.
Martensdale-St. Marys continued the pace, outscoring NV 28-24 in the second half to take a 71-50 win.
Toby Bower scored 15 points to lead the team. Tyler Vandewater put up 14 points and and six rebounds.
Mormon Trail 64, Orient-Macksburg 30
GARDEN GROVE – Mormon Trail (3-2) routed Orient-Macksburg (0-7) 64-30 Thursday night.
O-M fell behind big, early. Mormon Trail outscored the Bulldogs 42-12 in the first half to take a commanding lead.
The Bulldogs scored 18 in the second half, but couldn’t stop the Saints offensive attack and finished the game down 34 points with a 64-30 final.
Blake Thompson was the lone double-digit scorer with 10 points. Chase Walker and Wiley Ray scored eight and six points, respectively.
Murray 75, Lenox 59
MURRAY – Murray (4-2) picked up a 75-59 win over Lenox (1-5) Thursday night.
The Mustangs jumped out ahead with a 16-10 lead in the first quarter. The Tiger outscored Murray 16-14 in the second quarter, but Murray led 30-26 at halftime.
Murray’s offense picked things up in the second half, outscoring Lenox 45-33 to finish with a 75-59 win.
“Reece Held had a career night scoring 35 points,” said Murray head coach Darin Wookey. “Christian Nevarez defense in the second half, that really helped us to victory tonight. We still have a lot to work on, but we’re getting better every game.”
Held led the team with 35 points on 11 of 19 shooting from the field. Kegan Johnson was the other double-digit scorer with 13 points. Lenox’s Colton Vieux put up 23 points and Chase Johnston scored 13.
Moravia 58, East Union 49
AFTON – East Union (1-5) dropped its fifth straight game with a 58-49 loss to Moravia (5-2) Thursday night.
Moravia jumped out ahead early with a 17-13 lead in the first quarter. East Union outscored Moravia 11-10 in the second half, but trailed 27-24 at halftime.
The Eagles put up 17 points in the third quarter, but were outscored 31-25 in the second half to fall 57-49.

Mount Ayr 64, Wayne 32
Mount Ayr (5-0) picked up a 64-32 win Thursday night over Wayne (4-5).
