Timmie “Tim” L. Abell, 65, of Fairfield, Nebraska, formerly of Arispe, died November 6, 2019, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Clay Center Christian Church in Clay Center, Nebraska, with Pastor Arick Johanson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 1 to 8 p.m., with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, Nebraska.
A second service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday at Powers Funeral Home in Afton, 612 N. Dodge St., with Richard Cummings officiating. The family requests casual attire. Interment will follow the services Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton. Visitation will be Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m., with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m., at Powers Funeral Home in Afton. Tim L. Abell, son of Charles William “Bill” and Elizabeth Ferne Abell, was born October 21, 1954 in Creston.

Tim graduated from East Union High School in 1972.

On September 23, 1972, he married Connie Sue Whited.

Tim worked with several different farmers and Winterset Hybrids before taking a position with NC+ in Hastings, Nebraska in 1981. He worked there for 24 years before accepting a position with Remington Seeds in Hastings, Nebraska where he was employed until his health forced him to retire.

He is survived by his wife Connie Abell of Fairfield, Nebraska; children: Ernie (Debbie) Abell of Arispe and Carmen (Terry) McBride of Davenport, Nebraska; grandchildren: Dakota McBride; Colton Abell; Cora McBride; Colby Abell; and Taylor McBride; foster grandchildren: Terry B. (Brooke) McBride and Carolyn Lang; and his mother, Ferne Abell of Creston.

He was preceded in death by his father; two infant sisters; his grandparents; mother-in-law; father-in-law; and his brother-in-law.
