Last farmers market of the year today

With the beginning of fall comes the end of the Creston Farmers Market. Today is the last one for this season.

Central Church of Creston will be hosting a wellness demonstration at the market and will have samples of kale apple salad. Big J BBQ will be at the market for dinner and Beards of a Feather will have live music.

Senior Farmers Market vouchers and WIC will still be accepted.

This was the first year Greater Regional Health Care Foundation ran the Creston Farmers Market with Alexi Groumoutis as the manager.

“We had a great season, and it seemed to be a smooth transition,” Groumoutis said. “We had great support from the community hosting wellness demos and kids’ activities. We were able to bring a variety of food trucks to the market this year, which I think people enjoyed.”

The Creston Farmers Market is held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the southeast corner of McKinley Park.
