Harper Brice Williams

Harper Brice Williams, 70, of Bloomington, Minnesota, passed away September 1, 2019.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at Kok Funeral Home, Cottage Grove, Minnesota with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Creston at a later date.

Harper Williams was born in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1967. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school and served from 1967 to 1971. Harper was a welder in Colorado for several years before he ended up working for the VA Hospital in Minneapolis for the last several years. He was noted for his (long) stories and story telling.

Harper and Durkee Thompson enjoyed attending the Iowa State Fair every summer. Harper loved going to the cabin south of Afton and visiting with his buddy Bill and wife Janet Hayes.

Harper is survived by his significant other Durkee Thompson; children: Annaliza (Stephen) Cornwall, Richard (Christina Funari) and Elizabeth Williams; brothers: Mark (Cindy) Williams, Randy (Staci) Leeds, Rick (Sheila) Williams; sisters: Dottee (Bill) Duran, Aimee (Tate) Metcalf; grandchildren: Azilanna, Kalissa, Nolan, Josh, Bailee, Cheyanne, Ciarra, Aysia; one great-grandchild Marcus; step-mom Nina; niece Hope; and nephews: Ryan and Nathan.

Harper was preceded in death by his parents Brice Williams and Elizabeth Edwards.

Harper will be missed by his family and many friends.
