Steve Bochniak

Steve Bochniak, entered eternal rest on Aug. 26, 2019, at his home with his children by his side at the age of 59 years, 11 months, 23 days. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Aug. 30 at Graceland Cemetery. Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St., in charge of arrangements. Steve C. Bochniak, the son of Marian and Loretta (Reed) Bochniak, was born on September 3, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois.

Steve was born and raised in Chicago. He married his wife Ellen “Bunny” Bochniak on March 22, 1980, in Holland, Michigan. Steve and Ellen moved to Creston in 1996. Steve worked at various factories in Creston, including Bunn-o-Matic, Gummy Bear and Wellman Dynamics. Ill health and disability forced Steve to quit work from Wellmans in 2009, after 11 years.

Steve’s world revolved around his children and grandchildren. He loved fishing, camping, working on vehicles and listening to classic rock music.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Becky Bochniak of Creston and Steven (Meghan) Bochniak of Creston; 6 grandchildren: Chiance Freeman, Miracles Freeman, Lashay Freeman, Shyannah Bcohniak, Steven Bochniak and Octayvea Bochniak; along with many other children and grandchildren Steve and his “Bunny” adopted as their own along the way. Steve will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and by his wife, “Bunny” on Oct. 20, 2008.
