Carolyn Barr

Carolyn Barr, 72, of Creston, died Aug. 26, 2019, at Greater Regional Health. Celebration of life memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1000 Cottonwood Road in Creston. Brother Dustin Peckham will officiate the service. Burial will be held privately at a later date by her family. Memorial funds may be directed to the family for her expenses. Online condolences will be at www.powersfh.com.

Carolyn Ann Barr, daughter of Artie Sterit and Beatrice Louise (Modisette) Brawner was born on December 20, 1946, in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, Texas. She attended Louisiana State in Baton Rouge.

In October of 1973, Carolyn married Robert Gary Barr in Juarez, Mexico. They settled in Hobbs, New Mexico, where she worked and cared for her family, later relocating to Ft. Stockton, Texas. In 1982, she and a portion of her family moved to Creston. Carolyn’s greatest joy has been sharing her hope of living forever on a paradise Earth.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Sean (Cheryl) Epperson of Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, Tamara (Robert) Schneider of Dalhart, Texas, Steven (Sarah) Epperson of Carol Stream, Illinois, Marcia Barr of Ft. Stockton, Texas, and Rebekah (Jim) Auen of Creston; a brother Larry Brawner of Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Barr and son Ricky Epperson.
