Nathan Hoover is about five months into his return to the Greenfield Fareway store, this time as manager, and he said this week he’s received a warm welcome back to the community.
About eight years ago, Hoover left from being a stint as an assistant manager here. He was then transfered to other stores.
In March, Hoover came back to take over leadership of the store here, when it was fresh off an extensive remodel. Shelf capacity was added by the removal of a middle aisle that went throughout the store, new coolers were installed, and more.
That extensive remodel will be on full display when Greenfield’s Fareway store hosts a Grand Reopening Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m.
A ribbon cutting will take place at 3:15 p.m. According to Hoover, there will be food samples located throughout the store and other activities going on, like pork burgers that will be grilled by the Adair County Pork Producers and available for $1 with proceeds benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
There will be a raffle for prizes with winners drawn at 5 p.m.
“It’s absolutely wonderful to have a remodeled store. There’s a lot more variety in here than what there was before. Space is the key. We can compete with some of the stores that are close by us now,” Hoover said. “We don’t have quite the selection that they do, but we have a good variety of items. Everybody seems to be very pleased with the remodel. Our team all works together, gets along, and we still get our work done.”
