Raymond Argle Fisher, 86, of Lenox, died Aug. 10, 2019, at Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Lenox Community Center in Lenox on from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 with a Muster to begin at 7:00 pm. Private burial will be at a later date at Lilly Cemetery, rural Lamoni. A memorial fund has been established for the Lilly Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.armstrongfh.com.

Ray Argle Fisher, son of Edgar Omer and Olive Elmira (Maynard) Fisher, was born Oct. 7, 1932, at Lamoni, Iowa.

Ray graduated from Lamoni High School in 1951.

On May 11, 1952, Ray married Dora Lee Kleckner at the Clearfield Christian Church. Ray served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. After Ray was honorably discharged, he was a rural mail carrier in Decatur County for 20 years. Ray was an entrepreneur and was involved in several businesses over the years.

After Dora Lee passed away on May 12, 1998, Ray married Carol Lee (Abarr) Horton on Jan. 9, 1999 at the Clearfield United Methodist Church. While living in Clearfield, Ray served as the mayor.

Raymond is survived by his wife Carol Lee Fisher of Lenox; daughters: Mickie (Patrick) Kelly of Illinois, Kim Fisher of Texas, Susan (Karl) Larson of Texas, Shelly (Guy) Walling of Georgia; step-son Doug (Paula) Horton of Lenox; step-daughter Jan (Lynn) Christensen of Lenox; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Dwayne Drummond of Keosauqua; sister-in-law Lohre Fisher of Lamoni.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dora Lee, great grandson Lee Valentine Hassel, nine siblings.
