Gary Kelly

Gary Kelly, 62, of Creston died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Celebration of life services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation with family present will be from 1 to 2 p.m. service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Garold Eugene Kelly, son of Richard Garold Kelly and Carol (Waltz) Kelly, was born Dec. 3, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his GED and furthered his education at Southwestern Community College in Creston, obtaining his associate’s degree in computer science.

On Dec. 30, 1995, Gary married Gayleen Ann Hicks in Omaha, Nebraska. Gary worked in construction in his younger years, and later began his career as a truck driver.

Gary is survived by his wife Gayleen of Creston; children, Robert Hiatt of Omaha, Nebraska, Keith Hicks of Creston, Jeremy (Melina) Prior of Temecula, California, Scott (Kristina) Harris of Creston and Raymond Harris (Sandy Hudson) of Creston; grandchildren, Tommy, Robert, Brooklynn, Joshua, Audrey, Taylor, Austin, Diedrick, Lily, Olivia, T.C. and Anthony; brother Kip Kelly of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters, Pat (Jim) Thompson of Longmont, Colorado, Susan Bailey of Longmont, Colorado, and Rose Boucher of Omaha, Nebraska; and uncle Dan Waltz of Omaha, Nebraska.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael Kelly.
