Robert “Bob” Pringle, 78, of Creston died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at his home near Creston.
A celebration of life memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. Burial will be private. The Rev. Chuck Spindler will officiate. Visitation with family present will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Union County Fair Board – equine division or SWCC Foundation Scholarship. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.
Robert Charles Pringle, son of Mineta A. (Booth) Pringle and Charles Lewis Pringle, was born Dec. 29, 1939, in Fairfield. Bob graduated from Fairfield High School in 1958.
In December 1961, Bob married Judy Johnston in Fairfield. They settled in Fairfield, where Bob worked for French-Reneker as a surveyor. In 1970, the family moved to Tuscola, Illinois, where Bob managed a fertilizer plant.
In 1972, Bob moved to Creston starting a business in civil engineering, partnering with John Potts and Lynn Sickles, as they launched Mid-State Engineering. Bob and John sold Mid-State Engineering to Howard R. Green in 1986, and Bob continued working for them. Bob and Judy divorced in 1996.
In 2003, Bob married Wendy Sue (Culver) Frank in Creston. Bob retired in 2003, and the couple settled in Edgewood, New Mexico. They returned to Creston in 2006. Bob drove the Southwestern Community College activity bus.
Bob is survived by his wife Wendy Pringle of Creston; daughters, Stacy (Jan) Pringle Pyrtle of Osage Beach, Missouri, Alison (Jerry) Cowling of Norwalk and Kanzaidy (Seth) Tjelmeland of McCallsburg; stepson Robert (Kelly) Frank III of Omaha, Nebraska; and grandchildren, Grant Wood, Harper, Hadley and Harlow Cowling, Serenity and Royal Frank.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter Nancy Frank.
