Carol McFee, 76, of Rosalie, Nebraska, formerly of Creston, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City.

Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., in Creston. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Creston at a later date. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials are to the family. L. Carol McFee was born on May 25, 1942, in Iowa City to Lawrence and Lois (Blakesley) Bradley. She attended school in Lenox and graduated from high school there with the class of 1960.

On Nov. 17, 1964, Carol was united in marriage to John F. Kessler at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lenox. Together they had two daughters, JoAnn and Jarita. John died in 1973.

On March 22, 1974, Carol was united in marriage to Robert Glen McFee in Creston. They had one son, Robert Hugh McFee.

Out of high school, Carol worked at Gits Manufacturing as a secretary and later in accounting. Carol attended SWCC and graduated in 1990 with a degree in accounting. She also worked at Easter’s Food Store in the deli and at Wal-Mart Inc. She moved to Dakota City, Nebraska, in 1995, where she started working at the South Sioux City High School while also still working at Wal-Mart. She transferred to the water department and then city hall, where she was the payroll clerk. They later moved to Rosalie, Nebraska. Robert G. died March of 2004.

Carol was active as a girl scout leader for 50 years. She also bowled for more than 50 years and was a junior bowling league coach. Carol loved to garden, bake, sew, do crafts and travel. She enjoyed spending time outside and also volunteered for several organizations throughout her life. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. She would attend sporting events of her children and grandchildren whenever possible.

Carol is survived by three children, Robert “Robbie” (wife Jeanette) McFee of South Sioux City, Nebraska, JoAnn (husband Darrin) Nauman of Creston and Jarita Heidebrink of Ottumwa; six grandchildren, Ashley Kessler of Afton, Jacob (Erica) Nauman of Adel, Bradley Nauman of Creston, Sara and Julie McFee, both of South Sioux City, and Mason Heidebrink of Ottumwa; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Jonathan and Jaylee; two brothers, Larry “Butch” Bradley Jr. of Creston and Ed “Uncle DE” (wife Linda) Bradley of Lewistown, Montana; sister-in-law Kathryn (Jack) Adams of Creston; brother-in-law Robert (wife Janet) Kessler of Creston; dog Rudy; partner-in-crime Sophie Le Moine; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Kessler and Bob McFee; parents-in-law, Earnest and Lucy Kessler and Hugh and Ester McFee; brother-in-law John and five sisters-in-law, Mary Sevier, Karen Miller, Ellen VonStein, and as infants, Linda McFee and Deanne McFee.
