Carol Lavita McClure, 96, of Creston, former resident of Bloomfield, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at the Hospice Home in Creston.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Wagler Funeral Home, 304 W. Jefferson St., in Bloomfield with the Rev. Matt Froah officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to First Baptist Church Whirlybirds. Carol, daughter of Oliver Webster and Maude Ethel Willier Harris, was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Downing, Missouri.

On Aug. 26, 1942, she married Glen Robert McClure in Kirksville, Missouri. He died Oct. 27, 2001. Carol was a homemaker and farm wife.

Carol was a member of First Baptist Church in Bloomfield and was active in a quilt club and Mission Circle.

Carol is survived by her sons, Glen Gene (Cheryl) McClure of Creston and Michael Craig McClure of East Des Moines; grandchildren, Larry Gene (Michelle) McClure of Bellevue, Nebraska, Lonnie Ray (Damaris) McClure of Woodstock, Georgia, and Duston James (Kelsey) McClure of O’Fallon, Missouri; and great-grandchildren, Caroline, Julianne, Danielle, Marianne, Michael, Thomas and Bryson.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Lavern, Verlin and Marvin Harris; and sisters, Helen Nace and Vera Hancock.
