LeAnn Keenan, 58, of Creston died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, at First Christian Church in Creston with the Rev. Tony Thurston officiating. Burial is in Rose Hill Cemetery in Blockton. Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., in Mount Ayr, and with family present from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Creston. In lieu of flowers, you are invited to bring a children's book to the services and the family will donate to a charity encouraging children's literacy. LeAnn, daughter of Lee and Sheryl (Henderson) Keenan, was born May 20, 1960, in Corning. LeAnn attended and graduated from Mount Ayr Community School. She furthered her education at Northwest Missouri State University where she earned and received her masters in English.
LeAnn was a teacher and taught junior high English at CAL Community School and high school English at Waynesville, Missouri. LeAnn returned to Maryville, Missouri, and taught composition intro to literature at Northwest Missouri State University, and then taught writing classes at Southwestern Community College.
On Aug. 6, 2003, LeAnn married Dave Storer in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After living in Michigan for several years, they made their home in Harlan. In 2017, LeAnn and Dave moved to Creston.
LeAnn is survived by her husband Dave Storer of Creston; sister Cheri May and her daughter Samantha Hornback of Waukee; sister Lynn (Paul) Baker of Creston and their children, Melissa (Rocky) Malloy of Cedar Rapids and Meredith (Don) Wulf and their children Londyn and Hattie of Jewell; other relatives and friends.
LeAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Sheryl Keenan.
