Creston boys basketball coach Taylor Phipps has submitted his resignation, as confirmed Friday by Phipps and Panther athletic director Jeff Bevins.
Phipps recently completed his third season at the helm of the Panthers. His teams won 28 games and lost 39.
Phipps also helped lead the Panthers to their first postseason victory in five years, this past season.
“We have loved our time here in Creston,” Phipps told the News Advertiser. “It was a very tough decision, but we are moving closer to our family while our kids are at a young age.”
Bevins said a new search for a coach will shortly be underway. Creston athletics is now looking to fill the boys and girls varsity basketball positions.
