Emma Clem, 70, of Creston died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at her home in Creston.
Celebration of life memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. The Rev. Ken Halbur will officiate. No visitation will be held. Emma Jean Clem, daughter of Ralph Hayes and Ann Hayes, was born Jan. 6, 1948, in Council Bluffs. She graduated from Lenox High School. She lived in Creston since graduating from high school and worked for the telephone office until getting married.
On Dec. 31, 1966, Emma married William Donald Clem in Lenox. She worked part time for Green Valley Chemical for 12 years, Heritage Cablevision full time for four years, part time for Lois Monday at Monday Realty and was also a stay-at-home mother and housewife.
Emma was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Crestmoor Golf Club, both in Creston.
Emma is survived by her husband Bill Clem of Creston; sons, Anthony (Anne) Clem of Ames and Scott Clem of West Des Moines; daughter Dana (Dean) Michaelson of Creston; grandchildren, Angela Phipps, Brandon Phipps, Sydney Clem and Allison, Thomas and Ryan Clem; sister Rosemary (Tom) Bennett; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Lee) Ellershaw and Linda (Alan) White; and several nieces and nephews.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; mother- and father in-law, Don and Creola Clem; sisters, Patty John and Suzie Hayes; sister in-law Teresa Willets; brother-in-law John Rusk and son-in-law Kevin Phipps.
