Clifford L. Anderson, 93, of Creston died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at Crest Haven Care Center in Creston.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston. Matthew Novotny, hospice chaplain, will officiate. Open visitation with family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30. Inurnment will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Clifford Leroy Anderson, son of Elmer G. and Alice May (Foster) Anderson, was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Creston. He graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1942. Clifford worked various construction jobs when he was younger, and then worked for Singer Sewing Machine and Gambles Store.
In 1950, Clifford married Pearlie McNichols and they had four children. The couple later divorced and Clifford moved to Osceola. He worked in the maintenance department at Wellman Dynamics for 10 years. Clifford moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, for several years and returned to Osceola in 1985 where he worked for Saylor Realty as a maintenance man until his retirement. He later moved to Creston where he resided at Regency. Clifford has been with his companion, Martha Haberling, for the past 18 years.
Clifford is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Glen) Sievers of Urbandale, Dean Anderson of New Windsor, Illinois, Tom (Connie) Anderson of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Lori (Bob) Westcott of Creston; life companion Martha Haberling of Creston; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and brother Kenneth Anderson of California.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
