Arnold L. “Arnie” Curry, age 84, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. He was born May 27, 1933, in Conrad to Ancil D. Curry and Leona May (Minard) Curry. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arnie was employed as a draftsman for Fisher Controls, Herricks Refrigeration and Vanmark. He was also an industrial arts high school instructor in Early and a drafting instructor at Marshalltown Community College. After retirement, he worked for the Iowa DOT. He was a volunteer in the Sheriff Reserve for Grundy County and Union County.
Arnie enjoyed his family and friends, the outdoors, his dogs, country and bluegrass music, big band music and was an avid western novel reader.
Arnold “Arnie” Curry is survived by his wife Nellie Lucille of 28 years; his son Kevin Curry and wife Jean; his daughter Debra Holl and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Ryan, Molly, Patrick, Michael, Matt, Emily, Josh, Phoebe and Elena; daughter-in-law Connie Sevier and husband Tom; son-in-law Clint Kruse and wife Deanna; great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Jack, Annie, Ty, Beckam and Kayden; his sister Helene Bowlin and his dogs, Trouble and Cricket.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Pitts Chapel, 316 E. Broadway St., in Bolivar, Missouri.
