Debbie Jensen, 65, of Creston died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St., in Creston. The Rev. Jodi Rushing will officiate. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Visitation with family will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the funeral home. Deborah Lynn Jensen, daughter of Frederick Clem and Martha Jean (Spriggs) Collings, was born June 19, 1952, in Creston. Debbie lived most of her life in Creston. She lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, until the eighth grade, and returned to Creston. Debbie graduated from Creston High School in 1970. She also graduated from Northwest Missouri State and received a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 art.

On July 23, 1977, she married Roger Eugene Jensen at First United Methodist Church in Creston. Debbie was an art teacher for 39 years. She taught elementary classes in Lenox for 12 years and East Union K-12 for 27 years, retiring in May 2014. Debbie was also an independent artist, specializing in pastels, and began commissioning her art in 1989.

Debbie was a member of Creston Shutterbugs Camera Club.

Debbie is survived by her husband Roger Jensen of Creston; daughter Tiffany Johnson of Creston; son Jared (Mindy) Jensen of Sigourney; grandchildren, Aaron Johnson, Nicole Johnson, Raegan Rozenboom, Taylor Rozenboom and Jayden Jensen; brother Mark (Karen) Collings of Atwater, California; sister Cathy Mankin (significant other Mike Lord) of Antelope, California; adopted brothers, Glenn (Linda) Collings of Burnsville, Minnesota, and Mike (Bev) Collings of Grand Forks, North Dakota; adopted sister Vicki (Doug) Niles of Inwood; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Donna Collings.
