Leon Lamb, 84, of Creston died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Calvary Cemetery in Creston with the Rev. Ken Halbur Jr. officiating. No visitation is planned. Memorials may be directed to St. Malachy School. Online condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Claude Leon Lamb Jr., son of Claude Leon Sr. and Fern Martha (Hawker) Lamb, was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Creston. Leon attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1951. Leon enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served his country during the Korean War.

On Aug. 7, 1957, Leon married Catherine White in Creston. Leon worked for the United States Postal Service, where he remained for more than 30 years.

Leon was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston.

Leon is survived by his sons, Steve (Vicky) Lamb of Prairie Village, Kansas, Jeff (Linda) Lamb of Creston, Craig (Missy) Lamb of Pleasant Valley and Mike (Roxanne) Lamb of Red Oak; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, wife Catherine in 2013 and sister Betty Mae Weckman.
