Sunday, the Hawkeye 10 all-conference and all-academic teams were named by the league and several Creston Panthers were honored with the distinction.
Senior Ben Irr picked up a first-team all-conference selection with seven goals and 10 assists and was joined on the team as Gavin Woods picked up a second-team selection and Evan Jacobson was an honorable mention. Woods’ 16 goals led the Panthers and tied for second in the conference.
Jacobson scored six goals and assisted on four scores.
Both Woods and Irr will play soccer at Wartburg College.
On the girls side, Jeanette Blasi highlighted the selections for the Panthers as a first-teamer on the all-Hawkeye 10 team.
Blasi’s defense garnered her the attention of coaches throughout the league, and even colleges, as she will play soccer next at Mount Mercy University.
Grace Root and Kara Kinsella both earned second-team picks.
Root scored a school-record 14 goals in her sophomore season.
