The NJCAA Division II top-ranked Southwestern Community College Spartans (32-1), begin national tournament play in Danville, Illinois on Tuesday, March 21 at 11 a.m. central time against Southern Maryland of La Plata, Maryland (14-16).
Eight-seed Pima Community College from Utah (17-14) plays Waubonsee of Aurora, Illinois (24-8) at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Fourth-seeded Parkland of Champaign, Illinois (25-3) will play in the third game of the day against Johnson County of Overland Park, Kansas (23-8) at 6:30 p.m.
Fifth-seeded Richard Bland of Petersburg, Virginia (28-4) takes on Cincinnati State of Cincinnati, Ohio (25-7). They play at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
On the other side of the bracket are four more contests.
South Suburban of South Holland, Illinois (20-11) is the sixth-ranked Division II team in the NJCAA. All of South Suburban’s losses are due to forfeits, and the team is thought to be Southwestern’s biggest competition for a national title at the tournament. South Suburban is the second-seeded team and plays Dakota County of Rosemount, Minnesota (14-14) at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Seventh-seeded Macomb of Warren, Michigan (24-5) will play Niagara County of Sanborn, New York (24-5) Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Third-seeded Louisburg of Louisburg, North Carolina (26-3) will play St. Louis of St. Louis, Missouri (20-12) Wednesday at 12 p.m. Sixth-seeded Essex County of Newark, New Jersey (27-1) faces off with Grand Rapids of Grand Rapids, Michigan (20-12) Wednesday at 2 p.m.
