Henry Peterson, 92, of Mount Ayr died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., in Mount Ayr. The Rev. Dwayne Henrichs will officiate. Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hopeville Cemetery. Henry Hanson Peterson, son of Harry Hanson Peterson and Minnie Marie (Kohnlechner) Peterson, was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Union County.
Henry was a farmer. He never married as he stayed home and took care of his parents.
On Feb. 23, 2006, when Henry was no longer able to care for himself, he entered Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Henry is survived by his sisters, Leota James of Murray and Leona Holland of Osceola; sister-in-law Mildred Peterson; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elvina Sheets and Juanita Peterson in infancy and brothers, John Peterson, LeRoy Peterson, Clifford Peterson and Gaylen Rocera Peterson in infancy.
