Helen Maxine Cooper, 89, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorial services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Good Samaritan Chapel in Mountain Home. Interment was private. Memorials may be made to the Mountain Home Christian Clinic.
Helen, daughter of Carl William and Florence (Thomsen) May, was born July 12, 1927, in Creston.
She served in the consulate in Karachi, Pakistan and Ankara, Turkey. She served in Department of Defense in Fort Harrison, Indiana, as quality assurance accountant, attaining GS-12 ranking. She was a friend of Bill W. for more than 43 years.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband, J. Paul Cooper of the home; son James (Lisa) Fredericksen of Buffalo, Minnesota; daughter, Jane (Greg) Cooper of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Erik Fredericksen, Dana Fredericksen, Lynne (Robert) Polhlopek, Ryan (Cori) Cooper; and great-grandchildren, Kyle Polhlopek, Tyler Cooper and Bella Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Carl R. May.
