The Creston/O-M Panthers football team recently received a donation of chocolate milk from Western Iowa Dairy Alliance (WIDA).
Haley Jones of Creston heard about WIDA’s “Fall Sports Chocolate Milk Donation” program through her mother who is a member of WIDA. Jones teamed up with fellow dairy enthusiast, Shiloh Gennaro of Afton, to pursue the donation program. After talking with the Creston/O-M football coach, Brian Morrison, the trio decided that a chocolate milk donation would be a great idea and worth applying for.
The application for the milk donation went through and WIDA donated 75 bottles of chocolate milk to the cause.
“The idea of this milk donation program is to promote the value of chocolate milk as an excellent way to refuel after a sporting event,” Jones said.
Jones and Gennaro handed the milk out to the Panthers after Creston/O-M’s homecoming win against Atlantic.
WIDA is an organization of dairy producers and industry partners in the growing epicenter of dairy production in western Iowa. To learn more about WIDA, check out their website at www.wiadairy.com or their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WesternIowaDairyAlliance.
