Douma resigns

Brent Douma stepped down after two seasons as head coach of the Creston girls basketball team.

He’s returning towards his Northwest Iowa roots, taking over as head coach at Sioux City North.

“I have an exciting opportunity with some good young athletes,” he said.

Douma went 25-20 in two seasons at Creston.

He credited the staff and kids with making it an enjoyable experience.

“I was able to work with great kids and a great coaching staff,” Douma said. “I enjoyed my years at Creston.”

He added that he wasn’t looking for the job, but officials at Sioux City North reached out to him.
