Marvin Fuller, 79, of Corning died May 8, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 701 Seventh St., Corning. The Rev. Tim Maxa officiated. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Corning with military honors conducted by Corning American Legion, Ourcq Post No. 117. Memorials may be directed to the family to be determined. Marvin Lynn Fuller, son of Elva Gladys (Darrah) and Loren Boyd Fuller, was born Sept. 29, 1935, at home in Brooks.
Marvin graduated from Corning High School in 1953.
On Jan. 10, 1960, Marvin married Erma Louise West at Corning United Methodist Church.
Marvin, after graduation, enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1956 to 1958. After his honorable discharge, Marvin began farming near Brooks and continued to farm east of Corning. He owned and farmed the Darrah Century Farm where he grew corn and soybeans and raised hogs and cattle. Marvin implemented several different conservation methods, and he provided test plots for Pioneer Seed and Iowa State University.
Marvin was a member of Pheasants Forever and the Toy Tractor Club of Grant.
Marvin is survived by his wife Erma of Corning; sons, Mark (Julie) Fuller of Cleveland, Tenn., and Michael Fuller (and special friend Joanna Nast) of Merritt Island, Fla.; daughter Lynn (Phil) Stamps of Gravity; grandchildren, Loren, Forrest, Erin, Abby and Anne Fuller, Kandice Schouten, Kayla and Kynlee Kimpson and Shenia and Sabrina Stamps; brothers, Wayne (Evelyn) Fuller of Ames and David (Barb) Fuller of Corning; sister Marilyn (Merlin) Carlson of Nodaway; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents.
