Mass of Christian Burial for Donna Casey will be held at 10:30 A.M, Friday October 31, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Corning. Father Ken Halbur Jr., will officiate. Open visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., and family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Pearson Family Funeral service. Interment will be at the Victoria Cemetery, south of Massena in Cass County. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, to be determined at a later date. Donna Casey was born January 30, 1948 to Lawrence and Leola (Burmeister) Query, in Atlantic, Iowa. Donna passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 in her home in Corning, Iowa; at the age of 66 surrounded by her loving family.

Donna attended Cumberland-Massena Community School. She played basketball, ran track and graduated as valedictorian with the class of 1966. She was united in marriage to her high-school sweetheart, Phillip Casey on May 4, 1968 in Massena, Iowa and to this union of 46 years; they had a son Matt, daughter Shellie and infant daughter Anne. Donna worked as a bookkeeper for Barton Construction in Corning and after moving to Newell did the same for Newell Implement before finishing her career working for twenty years as the Newell – Fonda Elementary School Secretary and Media Specialist. She loved her time working with the Newell-Fonda students, staff, and parents and made many life-long friends.

Donna was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and Altar Society, a Meals on Wheels volunteer, and participated in a variety of school fund-raising activities for both her children & grandchildren throughout the years. She was a compassionate and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, always helping others, especially those who needed it the most. Her passion in life was caring for and enjoying time with family and friends, and she lived every day to the fullest. She was unabashed, fearless and never let any obstacle get in her way when it came to supporting those she loved. Donna also loved to travel with Phil and enjoyed many family vacations and trips, especially her many cross-country RV road-trip adventures and a cruise to Cozumel. She was a strong and beautiful woman who everyone enjoyed being around and she will be enormously missed.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents Lawrence and Leola; her infant daughter Anne; her mother and father-in-law Polly and Joe Casey; her two brothers: Duane and David Query; her sister JoAnn Cannon; her brother-in-law Vince Casey; and her sister-in-law Maggie Darling.

Left to cherish Donna’s memory is her loving husband Phil of Corning, Iowa; son Matt, wife Joyann of Granger, IA and their children, Colt, Sunshine and Beau; daughter Shellie, husband Dan Hoffman of Houston, TX and their children Sophia and Skye and many other family, loved ones, and friends.
