GREENFIELD — The Creston seventh-graders closed the season by winning four of nine sets against Nodaway Valley Thursday.
Nodaway Valley edged Creston Team One 21-12, 21-9, 12-15.
“The games were closer than the score indicates,” said Creston coach Teri Keeler. “There were some good volleys, but we just didn’t get the sideout on them.”

“Serving was the key in the two wins,” Keeler said. “Lexie Rounds had a great night of serving with 10 aces. Again, there were some great volleys!”

GREENFIELD — Creston went 6-3 in eighth-grade volleyball Thursday in the Panthers’ final match of the season at Nodaway Valley.
Creston Team One swept Nodaway Valley 25-7, 25-11, 15-1.
“This group put on a clinic,” coach Jan Lesan said. “There are so many weapons that could strike at any time. This group will be fun to watch in the future.”

“This group of athletes improved over the season but came up short in this match,” Lesan said. “They strive to play bump-set-spike. That is what I asked for as a coach. They need to improve on their fundamentals, but a great bunch of people to work with.”
